The December lineup of STEP FuturAbility District (Piazza Adriano Olivetti 1) continues to offer a rich program of scientific and cultural events. STEP is an innovative space designed to connect people with the future, helping visitors better understand the ongoing digital revolution and discover how to play an active role in it.
On Tuesday, 2 December, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the workshop “Botany 4.0: The Future of Natural Extracts in Science and Sustainability” will explore how advanced science, sustainability, and integrated supply chain management are evolving to create the botanical ingredients of the future, designed to meet growing consumer expectations. Models of supply chain management will be presented, featuring optimized local cultivation, full traceability, and sustainable resource enhancement.
Speakers include Alessia Vida, Sales & Principal Manager at IMCD Italy and an expert in the nutraceuticals sector, and Alberto Cozzi, Global Sales Director at Active Srl, an Italian holding specializing in Mediterranean botanical extracts with an integrated supply chain and sustainability-focused approach. The workshop is organized in collaboration with IMCD Italy, STEP’s Technology Innovation Lab Partner.
On Tuesday, 16 December, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, the workshop “AI and Truth: Creating and Verifying Content in the Age of Disinformation” will provide practical tools for using artificial intelligence in digital content creation and verification, debunking fake news, and detecting audiovisual manipulations. Through practical examples and real case studies, participants will explore AI’s dual nature: a technology that can boost creativity but also fuel disinformation if used uncritically.
The workshop will be led by Claudia La Via, journalist, editorial strategist, and trainer specializing in digital innovation, and contributor for BBC, Il Sole 24 Ore, and Avvenire.
