Fastweb + Vodafone and Fondazione Pangea ETS, an organization committed to protecting women's rights in contexts of discrimination and violence, are joining forces to support the training and integration path of five Afghan girls as part of "Afghanistan Emergency", the project promoted by Fondazione Pangea ETS and launched in August 2021 to respond to the humanitarian crisis that enabled the evacuation and reception in Italy of women, minors and families in difficulty.

Through Fastweb Digital Academy, the school for digital professions of Fastweb + Vodafone, the company will offer the girls involved – including journalists, human rights activists and university students – a personalized training plan that includes participation in three highly specialized and professional digital training courses in English, held in May.

The program was developed in a participatory manner with the involvement of the five young women and was calibrated to their actual needs and professional aspirations, with the aim of providing strategic skills immediately applicable in the workplace, from the use of artificial intelligence to the creation of digital content, to the most effective communication and negotiation techniques. In particular, participants will attend the courses "Introduction to Prompt Writing for Generative AI", "Digital Content Creation" and "Effective Negotiation: Communication, Emotions and Persuasion in Work and Everyday Life".

In a country like Afghanistan where women's rights have been systematically dismantled and where access to education for girls and young women is severely limited, the collaboration between Fastweb + Vodafone and Fondazione Pangea ETS represents a concrete commitment to help ensure access to education and digital skills for women living in particularly difficult contexts, positioning itself as a bridge to new professional and emancipation opportunities in Italy.

In support of the initiative, Fastweb + Vodafone has also made a donation of 10,000 euros to Fondazione Pangea ETS, as evidence of a commitment that goes beyond the training dimension and also embraces concrete support for the foundation's activities.

"Digital training is a fundamental tool for emancipation and inclusion. Making the skills of Fastweb Digital Academy available to support young women who, despite situations of great difficulty, are building their future here in Italy with determination, is for us a commitment that goes beyond social responsibility and is an integral part of our identity as a company," said Lisa Di Feliciantonio, Chief Communication & Sustainability Officer of Fastweb + Vodafone.

"We will never understand what it means to flee from one's country, risk one's life to assert the right to exist and find freedom. Leaving everything behind and starting over in a foreign country is a difficult and complicated journey. That's why we are very happy to have Fastweb + Vodafone by our side. Together we will accompany these five young women on a path towards autonomy and freedom." Luca Lo Presti, President of Pangea
