Fastweb+Vodafone announces the launch of FastwebAI Suite, a platform of generative artificial intelligence-based services and tools dedicated to businesses and public administrations. As the first Italian telco to introduce sovereign AI-based solutions, Fastweb+Vodafone strengthens its position as a leading player in the country’s digital transformation, paving the way for the development of Italy’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
The FastwebAI Suite consists of end-to-end solutions based on sovereign infrastructures located in Italy and an AI platform that integrates secure and regulation-compliant generative AI and AI agents, ensuring data protection. Thanks to next-generation datacenters located across the country, the NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD supercomputer operational since last July, the FastwebMIIA language model – natively trained in Italian on data sourced from certified and authoritative origins and governed with full transparency – and cloud, edge computing and cybersecurity platforms designed to offer maximum protection, FastwebAI Suite ensures full compliance with the European AI Regulation (AI Act), privacy laws and copyright regulations.
A distinctive feature of the suite is its strict approach to data segregation, with data remaining confined within the specific application environments for which the solutions were developed, without any reuse or exposure to external contexts. This ensures total information protection and confidentiality, making FastwebAI Suite the ideal choice for organizations handling critical and sensitive data.
FastwebAI Suite was presented during an event held in Rome at Spazio Colonna, which featured, alongside Walter Renna, CEO of Fastweb+Vodafone, the participation of Mario Nobile, Director General of AgID, Eva Spina, Head of the Department for Digital, Connectivity and Emerging Technologies at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), Francesco Ubertini, President of Cineca and Vice President of the National Research Center in High-Performance Computing, Augusto Di Genova, Chief B2B Officer of Fastweb+Vodafone, Roberto Giagnacovo, CIO of ENAC, Alessandro Magnino, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer of Fastweb+Vodafone, Giovanni Germani, Head of Artificial Intelligence at Fastweb+Vodafone, Domenico Impelliccieri, Head of ICT Multicloud, AI, FastCloud & SAP Factory at Fastweb+Vodafone, Andrea Santagata, CEO of the Digital and MarTech division of Mondadori Media S.p.A., and Luciano Floridi, Founding Director of the Digital Ethics Center at Yale University.
“With FastwebAI Suite, we are offering businesses and public administrations a set of solutions that guarantee security and full control over their data, thanks to the excellence of our infrastructures and our end-to-end approach,” said Walter Renna, CEO of Fastweb+Vodafone. “Today, we want to help bridge the technological gap in AI between Italy and the rest of Europe by promoting the creation of an ecosystem involving public and private players that can play a leading role on the international stage.”
Thanks to the experience gained in integrating AI into its own business processes, Fastweb+Vodafone is also able to offer companies and public bodies handling sensitive or critical data a tailored consulting approach through highly specialized personnel in AI, cloud and cybersecurity.
In addition to the on-demand computational power of the NVIDIA Supercomputer available through FastwebAI Factory, FastwebAI Suite includes FastwebAI Work, the platform designed to improve employee efficiency within organizations, integrating a chatbot interface for real-time response generation, a dedicated AI assistant to streamline chat interactions and facilitate teamwork, and an AI tool for advanced document analysis, text translation and creative image generation. The suite also includes FastwebAI Agents, the platform that allows technical teams to create, orchestrate and automate AI-based processes quickly and intuitively. This solution enables the creation and management of “agents,” intelligent software tools designed to autonomously perform specific tasks and solve problems using AI. Completing the portfolio of solutions now available on the market is FastwebAI Custom, a modular and flexible offering providing complete end-to-end services as well as specific tools for organizations that have already embarked on their AI adoption journey.
In the coming months, FastwebAI Suite will be enriched with new services, including FastwebAI Governance&Compliance, which allows organizations to manage AI-based projects by monitoring their progress, measuring their effectiveness and return on investment, and ensuring their compliance with current regulations, and FastwebAI Security, the solution designed to ensure the secure use of third-party AI systems.
During the event, Fastweb also launched the FastwebAI Hackathon, a competition open to students and start-ups that will take place from September 11 to 12. For 24 hours non-stop, participants will be able to leverage the functionalities of the AI suite and the computational power of Fastweb+Vodafone’s supercomputer to develop new ideas and innovative projects exploring the frontiers of generative AI. Projects will be evaluated by a jury of experts, who will award the prize to the most innovative idea. The winning team will receive exclusive 30-day access to a DGX compute node of the FastwebAI Factory supercomputer. A special award will also be given to the most inclusive project, which will earn access to the Master’s program in Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion organized by Fondazione Brodolini.
