Milan, 1 December 2025 – Contributing to the environmental regeneration of local areas, promoting biodiversity and creating value for the community. With these objectives, Fastweb + Vodafone has renewed its commitment to environmental and social sustainability by developing two new projects in Milan and Rome, which are part of the national campaigns Mosaico Verde and Ortofrutteto Solidale Diffuso, promoted by AzzeroCO2 and Legambiente.

On Saturday, 29 November, company employees and their families enthusiastically took part in the “ConnActionday,” an initiative dedicated to strengthening connections among people, teams and corporate values. The project allows each employee, on a voluntary basis, to dedicate two working days per year to social or environmental volunteering activities, choosing what best suits their personal interests and availability.

In Milan, the initiative took place in the Boscoincittà Park, managed by the association Italia Nostra, within the Parco Agricolo Sud Milano. Thanks to the commitment of the participants, 1,000 new trees and shrubs were planted across one hectare of land.
The selection of species – including alders, willows, poplars, field maples, cherry trees and privets – was carefully curated to generate diverse ecological benefits. These plants will enrich the park’s tree heritage by creating new and valuable habitats for birds and pollinating insects, which are essential for ecosystem balance. The selected species are also known for their strong capacity to absorb CO
, produce oxygen and filter atmospheric pollutants. Finally, alders, willows and poplars will help improve rainwater management, reducing the risk of water stagnation and mitigating potential hydrogeological issues in the area.
The intervention carried out in Milan is part of Mosaico Verde, the national campaign for the restoration of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, environmental regeneration and the forestation of green areas, promoted by AzzeroCO2 and Legambiente.

On the same day in Rome, corporate volunteering activities led to the planting of 300 olive trees. The initiative took place at the “Tenuta della Mistica” Social Farm, managed by the Capodarco Agriculture Cooperative, a national reference point for social agriculture that uses agricultural work as a tool to combine care for the environment with social inclusion.
The project aims not only to enrich the farm’s agricultural and environmental heritage, but also to strengthen the social impact of its activities. People supported by the cooperative, through the cultivation of olive trees, will engage in a training process designed to create new opportunities for social and professional inclusion. Furthermore, the new trees will help increase the farm’s production of organic olive oil, reinforcing the cooperative’s economic sustainability and its ability to reinvest in social and inclusion projects.
The initiative is part of the Ortofrutteto Solidale Diffuso campaign promoted by AzzeroCO2 and Legambiente, a project aimed at fostering environmental and social integration, protecting biodiversity through the creation of solidarity orchards, and bringing together skills and values to generate human, environmental, economic and civic progress.

The projects carried out in Milan and Rome are part of the broader sustainability actions pursued by Fastweb + Vodafone. In 2021, the company joined the Mosaico Verde campaign, committing to the planting of 15,000 trees across Milan, Rome, Bari, Catania, Turin, Pomigliano D’Arco (Na), Pescara, Cagliari and Mola di Bari (Ba). For 2024–2025, Fastweb + Vodafone further expanded its commitment by supporting a variety of initiatives, still within the framework of Mosaico Verde, aimed at protecting and restoring forests and historically or environmentally significant sites in Italy, including the Beigua Regional Natural Park (Ge), the Municipality of Tuglie (Le), the Metropolitan City of Florence and the Municipality of Cuglieri (Or).
For 2025–2026, Fastweb + Vodafone’s action follows two main directions. On one hand, the long-standing collaboration with the Mosaico Verde campaign continues, with a new project planned in Bari following the intervention in Boscoincittà. On the other hand, the company has joined the Ortofrutteto Solidale Diffuso campaign, which will see a second intervention in Caserta, following the first project in Rome with the Capodarco Agriculture Cooperative.

“The ConnActionday represents the moment in which sustainability becomes concrete action in the territory. Thanks to the commitment of our employees and their families, we were able to contribute to the environmental regeneration of Milan and Rome, planting trees and olive trees that support biodiversity and strengthen the social fabric of local communities. For Fastweb + Vodafone, taking care of the environment and people means transforming commitment into tangible value for more sustainable and inclusive communities,” said Anna Lo Iacono, Head of Sustainability at Fastweb + Vodafone.

“A community for the community. This is the philosophy behind the projects carried out in Rome and Milan, where the energy of corporate volunteering became tangible action,” commented Alessandro Martella, General Director of AzzeroCO2. “Fastweb + Vodafone’s choice to continue its journey with Mosaico Verde while also embracing the Ortofrutteto Solidale Diffuso campaign demonstrates a growing commitment over time and a shared vision: caring for the planet and supporting people are not parallel paths, but a single journey in which environmental and social impacts reinforce one another. This is a principle that the company’s employees brought to life during the ConnActionday, generating value for both the territory and the most vulnerable communities.”

“The reforestation intervention carried out, thanks to the collaboration between the CFU – Centro Forestazione Urbana of Italia Nostra – and Fastweb and Vodafone within the Mosaico Verde campaign, has enriched Boscoincittà with new plants. This is an important contribution to the naturalisation of the area and the enhancement of its ecosystem heritage,” stated Gianluca Vargiu, Director of the Centro di Forestazione Urbana (CFU) of Italia Nostra.

“This project aims to demonstrate, through a concrete example, the enormous potential of Social Agriculture, which embraces the dual mission of supporting vulnerable individuals through training and inclusion while protecting the environment and promoting the principles of Organic Agriculture,” said Salvatore Stingo, President of the Capodarco Social Agriculture Cooperative. “We thank Fastweb + Vodafone and all participants for this initiative, which strengthens our commitment and gives value to our daily work.”
