Fastweb further strengthens its positioning among the most sustainable companies in Italy and Europe according to Standard Ethics, the independent international ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) rating agency, which has confirmed the Company’s sustainability rating of “EE+” (Very Strong). The medium- and long-term outlook is positive.
The rating, based on the analysis and assessment of corporate governance, environmental and social factors, was awarded to Fastweb for having developed a sustainability governance framework inspired by the guidelines of the United Nations, the OECD and the European Union.
The assessment also reflects the advanced policies adopted by the Company on specific topics such as competition, taxation, inclusivity, gender identity and conflicts of interest. The Code of Ethics has also been updated to include Artificial Intelligence among the new elements with potential ESG impacts.
According to Standard Ethics, Fastweb’s corporate policy is synergistic with a robust ESG Risk Management system, and its non-financial reporting is aligned with best practices, featuring coherent targets consistent with international objectives.
Since the assignment of its first Standard Ethics Rating in 2021, the Company’s assessment has progressively consolidated, demonstrating a continuous and structured commitment to ESG issues, supported by the strengthening of sustainability governance, the achievement of significant ESG certifications and the integration of sustainability across all corporate strategies. Following the completion, at corporate level, of the integration process between Fastweb and Vodafone Italy on 1 January 2026, Fastweb has also formalised a well-structured ESG strategy to 2030, based on key ESG pillars and aimed at enhancing the complementary ESG strengths of the two companies.
Over the past year, the Swisscom Group has confirmed its group-wide objective of becoming Net Zero Carbon by 2035. In addition, since 2015 Fastweb has sourced 100% of its electricity from renewable energy and has adopted specific measures to improve network energy efficiency and promote the circular economy, particularly through the regeneration of customer modems.
With regard to the Social component, in 2025 Fastweb once again renewed both its SA8000 ethical certification and the UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality certification, while further strengthening its commitment to the dissemination of digital skills through Fastweb Digital Academy, the school for digital professions, and STEP Futurability District, the innovative space for connecting with the future located in Piazza Olivetti in Milan.
Since 2022, Fastweb has been a Benefit Corporation. Over the past two years, particular attention has also been paid to the sustainability of its supply chain, through the integration of an ESG supplier assessment system and the introduction of additional ESG risk parameters, with the aim of progressively fostering a sustainability culture across the entire value chain. Furthermore, the Company has developed a strong compliance framework with European regulations for all AI projects in production, whether developed internally or purchased from external suppliers.
