Fastweb + Vodafone and Cineca have announced a strategic agreement to support businesses in the development and deployment of applications based on Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI).

The memorandum of understanding signed by the parties will enable companies and research institutions to seamlessly transition from the testing and experimentation phase managed with Cineca to the operational phase, by leveraging the advanced computing infrastructure and high-performance cloud solutions provided by Fastweb + Vodafone's NeXXt AI Factory supercomputer.

With its next-generation network, resilient and secure cloud services, and advanced cybersecurity infrastructure, including the NOC (Network Operations Center) and SOC (Security Operations Center), Fastweb + Vodafone position itself as a strategic partner for organizations seeking to scale their AI projects efficiently and securely.

The agreement provides that Cineca, a leader in high-performance computing for research and innovation, will, through the availability of Fastweb + Vodafone's NeXXt AI Factory supercomputer, engage entities that have completed the research and development phase and require scalable, high-performance infrastructure to deploy their AI applications at a production level, within a streamlined supply chain model.

Fastweb + Vodafone will provide its technological platform and the NeXXt AI Factory supercomputer, specifically the NVIDIA DGX with 248 GPU H100, an infrastructure capable of managing the training and deployment of large-scale Gen AI models.

"Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing every sector, and Fastweb + Vodafone is committed to providing the best technologies to accelerate this transformation," said Walter Renna, CEO of Fastweb + Vodafone. "Through this collaboration with Cineca, companies, including SMEs, will have access to a smooth and secure pathway to transform their AI projects into successful operational solutions."

"The European strategy on artificial intelligence aims to promote the creation of AI supply chains, from the development of new solutions to final applications," emphasized Francesco Ubertini, President of Cineca. "The collaboration between Cineca and Fastweb + Vodafone aligns perfectly with these objectives, and I am confident that it will prove valuable in strengthening the innovation and competitiveness of our country."

This initiative is part of Fastweb + Vodafone's broader strategy for the development of AI and digital transformation, providing Italian businesses with concrete tools to innovate within a secure, scalable, and efficient technological environment.
